Staff Nurse - Band 5
Full time / part time hours available, permanent roles
We are recruiting Band 5 Staff Nurses to join an enthusiastic and motivated team on our Rainbow Unit, which is a new low secure unit for autistic men. Our service is designed to motivate autistic adults, meet their individual needs, and assist them in responsible community participation while providing for security and public safety. We provide a safe and motivating environment that promotes the values of education, work, and recovery while encouraging the development of skills and abilities through an individualized treatment programme. Our facilities are state of the art with each patient having their own flatlet with lounge and kitchen. The unit has strong ties with the University of Warwick and clinical research.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to participate in and facilitate the various group activities that occur on the ward as part of the inpatient treatment programme and will act as named nurse to allocated patients. Staff nurses are also required to act as nurse in charge of a shift.
Whilst full induction and training will be given, due to the specialist nature of the service it is crucial that staff have a particular interest in this group.
The post holder is required to possess and constantly update skills which enable them to provide services to this specialist group of patients.
The post holder will be required to provide emergency cover to other units in the event of temporary staff deficits.
