We are looking for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Occupational Therapy team based at Langdon Hospital, in Dawlish.

You will be joining the team of Occupational Therapists, our Assistants and our Engagement & Involvement team (E&I) and will work as part of the MDT to provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessments, to assess individual occupational needs and provide group and individual interventions to promote recovery. You will support the Band 5 to manage their caseload and will also hold a small caseload of your own which will include the more complex patients.

This Band 6 role will give you an opportunity to further develop your professional and clinical skills, lead small scale projects and includes line management responsibilities.

You will be given excellent professional and clinical support as you develop your skills and ideas in this post.

We will support you to grow and develop in your role. We are keen to support people to achieve their career potential and this is in part offered through a wide variety of training opportunities. In return, you will need to be motivated, forward thinking, and flexible.
About you
You will be a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) with evidence of post-graduate courses or on-going training and development in the theory and practice of mental health occupational therapy. In addition, you will have demonstrable OT experience at Band 5.

You will be required to foster close effective working relationships with the senior leadership team and you will become an important part of the team, working to ensure that every patient receives high quality care. The role is dynamic and challenging and you will be expected to take on clinical leadership responsibilities to support the delivery of occupational therapy assessment and interventions.

A positive and open attitude to multidisciplinary working is vital as is a strong patient focus and a desire to provide excellent support to people who use our services to establish hope for the future and facilitate individuals to learn and practice skills that support their goals and discharge to community life.

It is an exciting time to join us; our team is developing as we strengthen the role of Occupational Therapist at Langdon Hospital. Our goal is to deliver a recovery focused service that supports our patient’s hopes for the future and facilitates opportunities for individuals to learn and practice skills that will underpin their return to community life.
