An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Senior Project Manager to join our newly established Digital Patient Pathway Management team. This innovative team is dedicated to supporting, enabling, and optimising digital patient pathway management across the Trust.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a key role in leading high-impact digital projects that streamline patient journeys, improve operational efficiencies, and enhance the overall patient experience. This is a strategic leadership role, providing you with the opportunity to work across the NHS Trust and make a lasting difference.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead on the development, management and delivery of complex digital transformation projects within the patient pathway management initiative, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • With theHead of Digital Patient Pathway Management team and Digital Change Manager, shape the strategic direction of digital patient pathways, working closely with senior clinical, operational, and IT leaders to align project goals with broader Trust priorities.
  • Work collaboratively across the North West London Acute Provider Collaborative towards optimisation of patient pathways
  • Build and manage relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including clinicians, patients, IT teams, and external digital health partners, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Lead on the design and implementation of digital tools and technologies to optimise patient flow and care pathways, reducing waiting times and improving patient outcomes.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with projects, ensuring that issues are promptly addressed to maintain project momentum.
  • Provide regular updates to the board and key stakeholders, delivering insights on project progress, milestones, and impact.

Education/ Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level/equivalent
  • Post graduate management qualification or equivalent (i.e. professional courses or robust management experience)
  • Project/Programme/Change Management qualification, or equivalent


Desirable

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Visio or Project Management solutions


Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience of working within NHS organisations or equivalent
  • Significant experience managing and leading teams in digital transformation
  • Experience of managing complex transformation and change with a focus on implementing successful digital solutions within a healthcare provider environment
  • Experience of presenting and facilitating at stakeholder groups


Desirable

  • Experience of using Cerner and familiar with NHSE Improving Care Coordination Programme
  • Experience of supplier management and influencing their marketplace offerings and input into design requirements on behalf of operational requirements
  • Previous experience of being part of a GDE programme / team and transformational involvement in GDE projects or equivalent NHS England / Digital programmes


Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities

Essential

  • Detailed knowledge of change and transformation management as a subject matter expert within a complex programme and project environment
  • Knowledge of NHS patient pathways
  • Coaching and mentoring, developing understanding of change and benefits management skills within own team and applying knowledge across extended teams
  • Plan and organise team workload, (change activities,work schedules, planning, prioritisation etc.) Proficient use of MS Office applications


Desirable

  • Understanding of clinical reference terminology e.g. ICD10, SNOMED
  • Knowledge of NHS Information Standards and data sets
  • Awareness of and commitment to delivering excellent Customer service
