This is an exciting opportunity to join our recovery-focused and growing Eating Disorder service, working primarily in the Eating Disorder Intensive Community Treatment unit (EDICT), as well as the wider community team. If you are enthusiastic, forward thinking, enjoy a clinical challenge and want to use all your Nursing/OT skills then this is the post for you.

The post holder will be supported by the Team Manager/Clinical Coordinator and will work closely with community and in-patient Mental Health Services as well as a broad range of third sector agencies.

You will have proven assessment skills as well as experience of working in a health, social care or community setting as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

This post will offer varied specific eating disorders training opportunities and we would very much support you to develop in the role.

Main duties of the job

The post holder's main role is as a member of the EDICT Team assisting in the day-to-day delivery of, and working with patients accessing treatment at EDICT, which operates a day service 9.30-4.30pm, Monday to Friday, supporting patients within the community. Interventions are currently provided service-wide - in collaboration with the team in the South of the Trust - and online.

The team is becoming more integrated with staff working across the pathways and therefore this role will also include a caseload in the community outside of the day service.

The vision for the service is for the pathways to integrate across in-patients and community and for staff to work across them all. In addition, we are closely aligned with the Specialist Eating Disorder Unit (SEDU) beds within the Provider Collaborative in region.

The post holder will be able to demonstrate the following:
  • RMN or Diploma/Degree (BSc/MSc) in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC Registration
  • Relevant experience of working with adults with mental health problems


Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Qualified Mental Health Nurse or Occupational Therapist
  • Registered with NMC or HCPC, as appropriate
Experience Essential
  • Experience of working with patients with mental health problems
Desirable
  • Experience of working with people with eating disorders
