We are looking for an experienced band 7/senior practitioner Social Services OT to join our Integrated Children's OT team in Waltham Forest . Main duties of the job
This exciting role is based in a multidisciplinary specialist children's service where we are co-located with physiotherapist, speech therapists, paediatricians, community nurses and CAMHS teams. We also have close links with the adult learning disability and adult social services OT teams. Experienced and enthusiastic children's OTs are core to the efficient and client centred service that we provide to the children and their families in Waltham Forest.
As a Social Services OT in our integrated children's service , you will carry out home, assessments to identify barriers to children and young people's participation in activities of daily living and identify solutions including potential onward referral for major adaptations, equipment provision, support with packages of care and signposting. You will attend the Major Adaptations Panel and have a clear understanding of policy and legislations governing social care provision. You will work closely with the health OT team and the broader MDT to deliver and excellent service and support children and young people to achieve their potential.
You will be motivated to develop your own learning, contribute to service development and the support, training and development of junior colleagues, peers and students. The successful applicant will thrive on working as part of a team and have excellent communication skills.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of �4,313 to a maximum of �5,436 p.a. pro rata for part time).
High Cost Area Supplement - Fringe
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of �1,192 to a maximum of �2,011 p.a. pro rata for part time).
