An exciting opportunity has arisen for suitably qualified and experienced registered professionals to work within the Blackpool Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) You will work as a Senior CAMHS Practitioner within a multidisciplinary team offering full assessments, intervention and evaluation of the mental health care to children, young people and their families in a variety of settings, and in line with local and national guidelines. You will also provide regular and on-going consultation, joint work, training and advice to other agency staff in relation to child and adolescent mental health to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.

Main duties of the job
CLINICAL
- To provide full clinical assessments of children, young people and their families referred to CAMHS in a variety of setting and situations including the ward duty rota. You may be required to work weekends and evenings.
- To manage a clinical caseload, comprising of assessments and ongoing direct therapeutic interventions to children, young people and their parents/ carers. This will include regular liaison and collaborative working with other agencies i.e. social services and education.
- To regularly discuss clinical issues and concerns with the CAMHS Team Leader, Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and colleagues regarding on going therapeutic work.

- Maintain and develop own professional skills and knowledge. Undertake all mandatory training and continuing professional development to ensure professional knowledge is current and complies with national guidelines and Trust policy.

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered professional qualification in Mental Health Nursing, Social Work, OT or other equivalent qualification
Desirable
- Post registration qualification in child & adolescent mental health or qualification in therapeutic approaches with children, young people, parents or carers
- Qualification in teaching, assessing and mentoring of students.
Experience
Essential
- Relevant post qualifying experience of working within children and families
- Significant post- registered qualification experience with children, adolescents and families in the area of mental health
- Evidence of experience working in a community setting as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Evidence of carrying out comprehensive assessments and care plans
- Evidence of collaborative working with other services.
- Evidence of experience and/or training in supervising staff
