An exciting opportunity has arisen for a BABCP accredited 8a CBT therapist and/or Counselling/Clinical/Clinical Health Psychologist who has experience of working in an IAPT service and has completed further relevant training in clinical supervision. Experience of working with patients with comorbid long-term health conditions (LTC) and medically unexplained symptoms (MUS) and health care teams is desirable. LTC/MUS top-up training may be available for suitable applicants who have not done the National IAPT HI LTC/MUS top up training.

TalkingSpace Plus is a partnership between Oxford Health. Mind well-being and Principle Medical Limited (PML) counselling services and currently provides the IAPT service in Oxfordshire. We are a well-established team with and great reputation for providing a full range of high quality evidence based treatments and interventions for patients with anxiety/depression, with and without long-term physical health conditions. Within the role, we are looking for an individual who can contribute to supervision, and clinical cases and leading one of the three locality teams. TalkingSpace Plus was a DoH Pathfinder site and NHSE Wave 1 integrated IAPT site and continues to develop its staff to be able to work with patients with anxiety/depression, with and without comorbid and long term physical health conditions. For those with LTC/MUS training and experience there is also the opportunity to work with other clinicians to develop our LTC/MUS pathways including for patients with cardiac disease, diabetes, respiratory disease or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS/ME). We follow an integrated stepped care model and it will require close working with IAPT Step 2 and 3 colleagues, primary care services, wellbeing services and colleagues from the third sector and community and hospital-based physical health care teams.

You will have a small mixed clinical caseload of patients with and without LTC/MUS. Applicants must have completed the relevant supervisor training and have at least six months’ supervision experience. If providing LTC supervision with the LTC teams, then experience of offering supervision to IAPT and health care workers working with patients with physical health problems would be desirable.

The service provides opportunities to lead on aspects of service development such as veterans, older adults, perinatal, BAME as well as LTC/MUS pathway development. The successful candidate can expect regular supervision with an accredited Clinical Supervisor as well as a range of training opportunities.
