NORTH CUMBRIA INTEGRATED CARE NHS FOUNDATION TRUST (NCIC)
Band 5 Registered nurse, Maternity cover for 9 months.
26 hours per week available
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse to join our well established team on Ward 1 at West Cumberland Hospital. We believe that happy, supported staff provide the highest standard of care. The successful candidate will benefit from working alongside a supportive, experienced team. Ward 1 is a 32 bedded unit with 17 beds accommodating elective surgery whilst the remaining beds accept acute surgical referrals from GPs, A+E, Outpatient clinics, Same Day Emergency Care and gynaecological emergencies.
The ideal candidate will thrive in this fast paced, exciting environment. We welcome applicants from experienced and newly qualified nurses and previous newly qualified staff have highlighted the level of support.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to be responsible for their own team of patients and duties include completing admission packages, medication administration (oral, sub-cutaneous, intravenous and intra-muscular) care of patients pre and post operatively, management of naso-gastric tubes, drain management, wound management, stoma care, discharge planning.
The successful applicant will be committed to providing excellent nursing care to our diverse group of patients. This is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate and increase your knowledge, experience and skills on a fast paced ward area.
Successful applicants must be able to provide high quality safe nursing care which is driven by patient experience and evidence based practice.
