If you are looking for an exciting new challenge Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCFT) which is a Specialist Mental Health and Community NHS Foundation Trust in the North West, is the place for you.
We are currently looking to recruit a Chief Fire Safety Officer on a permanent basis.
The post holder will oversee the Fire Safety Team and be responsible for ensuring that Trust sites meet all statutory fire requirements. A key feature of this role will be to ensure that fire safety systems are in place to ensure compliance and meet requirements of legislation and that these are supported by suitable policies and procedures linking into Trust Management arrangements. The Chief Fire Safety Officer will oversee completion of Fire Risk Assessments, provide training and provide general support in relation to fire safety.
The Fire Safety Advisor will provide an oversight of the service providers fire safety responsibilities and ensure all their services comply with legislation and good industry practice in order to provide a safe environment for Service Users, Staff and Visitors and assure the Trust where fire safety compliance is concerned.

Main duties of the job
Provide the Trust with operational leadership in the field of fire safety and technical fire detection device management. Communicating regularly with key internal and external stakeholders.
Responsible for the reduction of risks relating to fire. Undertake and manage comprehensive fire risk assessments and associated risks identified.
Operational accountability for all fire related matters involving all of our sites across LSCFT ensuring full compliance in relation to fire maintenance, involved in the process of upgrades and providing technical assurance to the Trust.
Lead Team Meetings and audits as required. Complete annual review of systems, process and compliance pertaining to fire safety.
Enable and encourage others to offer suggestions, ideas and views for improving services.
Assess schemes compartmentation status and resolve with the Capital Team.
Responsible for producing and implementing departmental procedures as appropriate, contribute and write Trust Policies.
Complete full review of risk assessments of buildings and full review of fire compartmentation ensuring they meet standards and remain legal and proactive.
Respond to any complaints from external agencies or the public in relation to fire issues raised as a concern.
Participate in and communicate with Trust committees including the provision of reports in relation to Fire Safety department.
Alert managers to resource issues that affect learning, development and performance.

The bonus is only available for people who are not currently employed (or who have not been employed in the last 12 months) by any NHS provider trust in the Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care System in a like-for-like role e.g. a Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse at another Trust in the LSC ICS would not be eligible for the bonus if moving to a Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse role at LSCFT. Bank only workers for Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust are eligible for the scheme if they have not held a substantive role in Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care System in the last 12 months (subject to all other terms and conditions being met). These incentives are subject to recovery clauses within the first 24 months of employment.
