Due to internal reconfiguration we have an exciting opportunity at Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull Hospitals, part of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust to appoint a Band 7 Speech & Language Therapist to join our dynamic and expanding Speech & Language Therapy team. Full-time and part-time positions are available, and we are open to discuss flexible working arrangements.

Main duties of the job
You should be able to work as a highly specialist, autonomous practitioner within the field of stroke / rehabilitation and conditions impacting communication and swallowing. Alongside this you will provide direct line management to the team. Evidence of strong organisational, communication and leadership skills are essential to compliment your advanced speech and language therapy knowledge and skills. You should be passionate about providing effective patient centered care, as well highly enthusiastic about service development of stroke services.
This is a new exciting opportunity to work within the friendly and supportive Adult Speech and Language Therapy service, assisting in the lead of the stroke SLT services based at Birmingham Heartlands and Good Hope Hospital. This post will be supporting the restoration and recovery of the clinical stroke pathway following the pandemic, including ESD service. You will be welcomed into a large and supportive therapy team with excellent training and development opportunities as well as a robust supervision and appraisal system. You will have the opportunity to work alongside highly specialist staff and have access to regular videofluoroscopy & FEES clinics.
This post includes participation in the weekend service for inpatients across Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull Hospitals

- *Health Professions Council -- Licence to Practice
