An opportunity has arisen for a physiotherapist with proven clinical skills to join the orthopaedic physiotherapy team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust as a Band 6 Orthopaedic Physiotherapist.
It is a fixed term 12 months full time role at 37.5 hours per week and for periods will be on the elective Orthopaedic wards at Guy's Hospital and for other periods will be a split post between Guy's Hospital and St Thomas' Hospital as part of the Plastics and Trauma / Elective Orthopaedic department.
Main duties of the job
The post involves providing advanced assessment, treatment and advice within the Plastics and Orthopaedic Inpatient Service, as part of a seven-day working rota . You will gain experience in treating a variety of complex and non-complex trauma and elective orthopaedic and plastic patients, including tertiary referrals, both as inpatients and within the local community as part of the multidisciplinary Guys Orthopaedic Outreach Team.
You will have the opportunity to develop your skills by the appraisal and supervision of junior staff and students, and will be involved in the delivery of in-service training programmes for therapy staff. The post is supported by experienced senior staff and a clinical specialist in both elective and trauma orthopaedics.
