At Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust, we are looking for fully qualified Health Visitors to join our well established Health Visiting Service. Full, Part-time and Bank positions are available. Main duties of the job
Applicants should be a qualified Nurse/Midwife who have qualified (or currently in training) as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse and require good organisational abilities, excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively, utilising electronic and manual systems.
Excellent knowledge of the current health agenda relating to Children's Services and Health Visiting is a necessity and the ability to meet the travel requirements of the role.
At SWBH we have been continuing to re-shape the way Health Visitors work and throughout the pandemic we have kept our Health Visitors working safely with local families by introducing new and innovative practices. With the provision of laptops and mobile phones to all our staff and with additional technological solutions, we were able to implement the necessary changes to continue to provide the support our families require and welcome.

Health Visitors in Sandwell & West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBH) work within corporate teams and are supported by Community Nursery Nurses, a Health Visitor Contact Centre and are led and managed by Health Visitor Team Leaders and Clinical Lead for Health Visiting. All Health Visitors are supported by the safeguarding unit and access safeguarding supervision for vulnerable families from specialist NSPCC trained supervisors. In addition to this, specialist safeguarding Health Visitors develop and deliver safeguarding training to further enhance Health Visiting skills and knowledge.
