The NHS financial landscape is challenging and subject to increasing scrutiny. This role will jointly be responsible with the other Deputy Directors of Finance for ensuring the integrity of the general ledger, giving assurance to the Director of Operational Finance and Director of Strategic Finance that the financial information supplied is accurate and in accordance with professional accounting standards.
Working with the Director of Operational Finance, the integrity of coreprocesses and the financial framework will be assured so that thefinancial information supplied is accurate and in accordance withprofessional accounting standards. A continuous improvement mindsetwill be welcomed, alongside professional curiosity to constructivelychallenge ways of working and established views.
Main duties of the job
Compassionate and supportive leadership, professionalising high quality and responsive outputs from the Financial Management and costing finance teams.o Provision of sound financial expertise to support a qualityaccounting service in accordance with accounting and NHSstandards.o Support the delivery of robust governance arrangements for Finance and Procurement with assurance in quality reportingo Optimised software solutions for enhanced efficiency and accuracy.o Clear processes established for monitoring income and expenditure of annual and longer term plans.o Strong leadership of statutory financial duties including thesubmission of the Annual Consolidated Accounts.o Compliance and efficient development of a range of necessaryprocedures, controls and plans.o Robust forecasting, regularly reviewed based on sound assumptions.o Constructive membership of the ICS Capital Group
o Deputising for the Director of Operational Finance when relevant
