We have an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Manager to join the Infrastructure team within the Unified Communications Division at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Unified Communications Infrastructure team has a broad role in enabling communication across the hospitals. This includes telephony, mobile and unified communications services as well as infrastructure supporting IT services for these highly regarded hospitals.
The Infrastructure Manager role is key in delivering and managing the primary Data Centre and over 100 cab room environments, all layer one infrastructure as well as telephony services across the Biomedical Campus. The candidate will have good project management and presentation skills to deliver the necessary programmes of work.
This is a linked grade role, with the salary dependent on experience. It is a requirement of the role for the candidate to hold a Certified Data Centre Management Professional (CDCMP) certification, or equivalent Cabling or networking accreditation. If the successful candidate does not meet the criteria for qualifications the starting grade will be band 6, progressing to band 7 following completion of the certification within the first year in post.
Main duties of the job
To deliver and manage the tier 2/3 standard Data Centre and cab room infrastructure to meet high availability targets.
To be responsible for drafting standards, protocols, prioritising and managing an uplift programme to deliver all aspects of the warranted cab room environment for the above (including cooling, uninterrupted power, environmental monitoring and reporting) across the CUH estate.
To be responsible for cabling standards for voice and data services ensuring all performance and fire safety requirements are met.
To support the service desk engineers in managing VoIP, hybrid and mobile telephony services across the Trust.
To work alongside a number of other Trust departments, third party service providers and contractors to meet these requirements.
To take part in the duty engineer arrangements for the team, supporting the duty engineer and the Service Desk Manager when required to do so, so that a consistent level of technical support is provided to the organisation.
This will require being part of an on-call rota.

- Educated to degree level in technical or engineering qualification or equivalent level of knowledge & experience.
