Working Part Time: 15 Hours Per Week
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to support the Echo Service at the Countess of Chester Hospital undertaking routine, complex and specialised procedures including accurate reporting to support clinical decisions.
The successful applicant will work as part of a team, reporting to the clinical lead and will provide supervision, training and support for more junior staff. This is an exciting opportunity to support the development of the wider Cardiology service at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide a comprehensive service for diagnostic investigations within echocardiography. Independently perform and report echocardiograms. Working autonomously and at an advanced specialist level analysedata and produce highly complex reports recognised to BSE standards.2. Support the delivery of specialist echocardiography services, including transoesophageal, bubble, contrast and stress echocardiography.3. Provide a Physiologist led diagnostic service for GP direct access referrals submit an autonomous report directly to the GP with recommendations for patient care unless a Cardiology opinion is deemed necessary.4. Support training and development of students, Cardiology registrars and other medical staff within echocardiography.6. Undertake an active role in triaging. Prioritise own workload to meet service need and escalate demand / capacity issues to the clinical lead.7. Contribute to maintaining and developing professional standards. Actively contribute to MDT clinical review meetings and participate in departmental audit supporting BSE echo quality framework.8. Support patients throughout any tests, including explaining to the patients the need for them being positioned where they are. Ensuring that any less mobile of frail patients are supported into the correct bodypositions for any tests to be carried out as effectively as possible.

This is an increase of nearly 10,000 compared to the previous year when there were 494,387 patient attendances.
