(0.2 TWE) Clinical Lead SLT to the crisis pathway within the adults with IDD Speech & Language Therapy Service in Nottinghamshire.

You will be providing clinical leadership to the Speech & Language Therapy teams working across community crisis and inpatient services.

You will additionally be involved in the strategic Speech & Language Therapy leadership focusing on reducing health inequalities and enabling care for adults with complex needs including mental health needs.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be providing a clinical leadership to the Speech & Language Therapists working in diverse teams across the pathway.

Duties include:
  • Clinical supervision and support
  • Strategic leadership and clinical governance support to SLT pathway.
  • Representation at appropriate forums across Nottinghamshire NHS Foundation Trust and other stakeholder meetings.
  • Second opinion on clinical needs for complex cases.

Job responsibilities

  • To be autonomous and responsible for the assessment, formulation and management of a specialist clinical caseload ensuring practice is in line with Professional Body guidance
  • To lead and coordinate the development and monitoring of specialist packages of care for adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities and specialist clinical needs (Mental Health, Autism, Challenging Behaviour),
  • To provide team consultation to professionals, families and carers providing uni-professional expertise
  • Inform and advise Heads of services/professions as to learning, resources, trends, and development needs of services for population
  • To contribute and develop the development of Directorate wide clinical strategies based on professional expertise including providing advice, recommendations and learning and development
  • To represent the profession and/or AHPs at agreed forums as required.
  • To represent the SLT teams from the crisis pathway at agreed forums as appropriate


Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
  • Recognised NMC or HCPC Degree/diploma
  • NMC Registered or HCPC Registered
  • Recognised ACP Masters (or equivalence) qualification
