The new Band 6 Clinical Research Practitioner / Research Nurse / Allied Health Professional (AHP) will join our dynamic R& D department at CLCH and be part of a dedicated research delivery team of Research Nurses and Clinical Research Practitioners. CLCH is proud to be one of London and Hertfordshire's largest community healthcare organisations.The aim of the role of the Band 6 Clinical Research Practitioner / Research Nurse / AHP is to enhance the overall delivery of clinical research within the Trust by providing support to the Senior Clinical Research Practitioner and Research and Development (R& D) management by assisting with clinical and administrative activities related to research, e. g., clinical trials, from initiation to termination, in accordance with ICH-Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP) guidelines, national legislation and local policies.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for:
Setting-up, maintaining and closing clinical studies, in accordance with local, national and international legislation within various clinical areas.
Aassessing patients' suitability, ensuring informed consent is obtained, coordinating the logistics for patient visits, and undertaking patient assessments in accordance with study protocol.
Clinical and research data recording and reporting, including adverse and serious adverse events, in accordance with ICH-GCP and Trust policies.
Ensuring studies are delivered in line with agreed targets.
Assisting the R& D management in growing study portfolio and research culture across Trust Divisions.

Education/Qualification
Essential
- Clinical Research Practitioners (CRP): Registered with Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS) or waiting for registration completion.
- Research Nurses: Registered Nurse or Midwife with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Allied Health Professionals (AHP): will be considered as Clinical Research Practitioners if registered with the relevant professional body (e. g. HCPC).
- Educated to first degree level in a health-related subject or significant equivalent experience.
- Evidence of continuous personal, professional, and academic development within current role.
Desirable
- Post registration qualification/accreditation in clinical research-related subject or significant equivalent experience.
- Master's degree or working towards.
Experience
Essential
- Minimum of 18 months of research experience at Band 5/6 level in the NHS or community care setting.
- Experience of excellence in leading all /part of a clinical team in delivering a research study.
- Knowledge of the application of ICH-GCP principles.
- Experience of teaching and supporting staff new to research.
- Wide variety of clinical experience including research.
- Excellent attention to detail and evidence of being a completer finisher when it comes to project work and research delivery.
Desirable
- Knowledge of variety research design and method.
- Proven management experience.
Skills & Knowledge
Essential
- Proven knowledge of research governance frameworks and regulatory standards.
- Proven knowledge of challenges and safety issues through clinical/ research governance and risk management and reporting.
- Excellent computer literacy skills and expertise in research systems.
- Proven clinical knowledge linked to NHS and research and excellence in study delivery.
