We are recruiting for a Senior Rotational Pharmacy Technician who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The role is ideal for newly qualified accuracy checking technicians who want to work in a busy and dynamic hospital pharmacy. Applicants with a retail pharmacy background are welcome to apply for this post as on the job training will be provided for all aspects of the role. Any new qualified technicians without an Accuracy Checking qualification or NVQ3 will be considered for this post and a Band 4 to Band 5 developmental plan will be offered.
You will be responsible for the day to day activities within the pharmacy department at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre Pharmacy such as general dispensing, drug distribution, chemotherapy desk, patient counselling and associated pharmaceutical duties.
In addition, you will receive a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of basic salary,subject to a minimum payment of �4,314 and a maximum payment of �5,436.

Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for dispensing and checking of in-patient and out-patient prescriptions.
Provide routine technical pharmacy support in a professional manner which supports a high quality,patient orientated service
Participate in Drug purchasing and drug distribution activities.
You will be responsible for running of the Chemotherapy desk and dispatching of chemotherapy orders to wards and day units in a timely manner.
Stock control activities such as expiry date checking and stock counting andReplenishing the emergency cupboard, fulfilling to-follows, conducting expiry date checks and replenishing emergency boxes as required.
Undertake relevant duties as delegated by a Pharmacist or Senior Technician.
