We are looking for a confident Occupational Therapy Assistant with a passion for delivering outstanding care. Youll be working full time, 40 hours a week, making a positive difference to the lives of the people in our care at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield. Cygnet Hospital Sheffield offers a low secure service for women and CAMHS services for male and female adolescents over three distinct wards. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant at Cygnet Sheffield, you will be based on Spencer Ward. Spencer Ward at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield is a 15 bed in patient service providing assessment and treatment for women with mental disorders. Treatment is aimed at identification and management of needs rather than just a particular diagnosis. We are dedicated to providing gender sensitive care and treatment for women detained under the Mental Health Act. Spencer Ward is the only female low secure unit in South Yorkshire.

Base: Cygnet Sheffield- Low Secure, Adult Female Ward (Spencer Ward)

Responsible for:Delivery of group and individuals interventions, providing feedback to the Occupational Therapist and Multi-Disciplinary Team.

Responsible to:Kerry Booth (Occupational Therapist)

Hours:40 hours per week Monday to Friday

Spencer Ward at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield is a 15 bed in patient service providing assessment and treatment for women with mental disorders. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will provide direct clinical care under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist. This will encompass the use of OT assessments and treatment in both groups and individual sessions. In this role you will help devise and implement an OT treatment programme according to service users diagnosis and identified needs. This will be based upon findings from assessments including associated risks, in order to develop treatment plans accordingly. Prioritisation skills are key to manage the caseload of clients effectively and you will work closely with the Occupational Therapist and multidisciplinary team onsite.

    Requirements

    The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS and reference check and an offer of employment will be subject to successful clearance.
