Perinatal Pelvic Health Services (PPHS) lead the delivery of NHS England's goal to improve the prevention, early identification, and treatment of 'mild to moderate' pelvic floor dysfunction after childbirth, reducing long-term postnatal issues.

Since 2021, South East London LMNS has been an early adopter of this initiative, with services now operational across Guy's and St Thomas' (GSTT), King's College Hospital (KCH), and Lewisham and Greenwich Trust (LGT). In 2023, South East London PPHS was awarded the Royal College of Midwives' Partnership & Team Working award for its innovative service.

We are seeking a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist to clinically lead PPHS across GSTT, KCH, and LGT and further develop services in line with the National Perinatal Pelvic Health Service Specification. The successful candidate will provide specialist training to maternity and physiotherapy staff, coordinate work with partners, and ensure that new pathways are embedded within maternity services. Continuous evaluation will be crucial to meet local needs.

Ideal candidates are curious, service-focused, and committed to clinical excellence and innovation, supporting the growth of services. This permanent role, hosted by GSTT, involves working across multiple sites with a blend of home, community, and hospital-based work.

Closing Date: 24th September 2024

Interview Date: 1st October 2024.

Main duties of the job

o Act as a specialist physiotherapist resource for physiotherapists and APP's within the hosted Trust and the LMNS, this will include education.

About us

The PPHS team includes specialist pelvic health midwives and physiotherapists working across three maternity providers. We are a warm, forward-thinking, and adaptable team with a supportive culture and a collaborative approach. Our focus is on promoting the well-being of women and birthing people, working across organisational boundaries to ensure seamless care. We actively collaborate with colleagues throughout our organisation and across the wider system.

As part of the South East London Local Maternity and Neonatal System, our ambition is to provide joined-up, high-quality, and compassionate care to women, birthing people, babies, and their families during pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postnatal period.
