This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual to use their excellent clinical, interpersonal and leadership skills to operationally manage and lead the Forensic Services' Community Services, Physical Health Improvements and Allied Health Professionals. You must be a registered Occupational Therapist.
You will have a key role in leading, supporting and developing these core services and functions of the Forensic Services, during a time of opportunity and progression where clinical quality care remains central to why we are here.
Required is an individual who has both an engaging and supportive approach, with the understanding and use of collective leadership being central to the success of the role. Highly developed skills in establishing and managing teams/services within partnerships, collaboratives, clinical networks, multi-agency services and an extensive understanding of Forensic/Secure Care agenda will be a requirement of the role.
Truly tackling health inequalities and developing a diverse and inclusive workforce representative of the populations we serve will be a significant and central expectation to this role.
The successful candidate will be supported in their own management and leadership development through regular supervision, appraisal and appropriate study through further learning and involvement in external and internal organisational projects.

Main duties of the job
The primary duties of the role are to oversee the operational management and delivery of the two Community Forensic Services, Forensic Outreach & Liaison Service (FOLS) based in York and the Forensic Outreach Team (FOT) based in Leeds, along with the Forensic Services' Physical Health offer and Allied Health Professionals.
To do this you will provide direct operational planning and delivery into these key services and functions through providing leadership and management to the Clinical Team Managers and Senior Occupational Therapists. You will work alongside the Forensic Services Leadership Team consisting of Consultant Clinical Psychologists, Matrons, Clinical Lead, Medical Lead and Head of Operations. You will also work closely and alongside our provider collaborative partners of Humber & North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire, to continually drive quality improvements using both collective and collaborative approaches as a key partner. Service User and Carer involvement will be essential in being successful in achieving quality improvements and successful operational delivery of services and functions.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be the overall performance (including capacity and performance management) of the services and key functions the role is responsible for.
You will also:-
- Be required to develop, and continually review, the operational structures and support the development of the clinical structures with a key focus on 'Ward to Board'.
- Lead changes within the services:- including engagement with service users/carers, those in the services and stakeholders including both statutory and third sector, leading and supporting management of change and leading the development of service improvements.
- Lead on the development, roll out and review of Local Working Instructions
- Maintain oversight and accountability of local risks and for the development and escalation of service risks.
- Carrying out HR investigations, identifying and responding to concerns around unsafe practice and misconduct as well as support the wellbeing of colleagues from within the services in line with policy and procedure.
- Deputise for the Head of Operations when required
- Manage the service budgets and support financial planning
- Working alongside providers, partners, provide collaboratives and the ICBs
