We are looking to recruit a full-time, qualified Mental Health Practitioner (Children's Psychological Services/CAMHS), CYP-IAPT in Evidence-Based Parenting Interventions for a Band 5 role. The post is part of the CAMHS/Child Psychology team for Lancaster & Morecambe. This is a full time post, 37.5 hours per week based over 5 days

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as a Mental Health Practitioner within Children's Psychological Services/CAMHS providing parenting interventions and managing a case load whilst being supervised by senior practitioners. Other clinical duties include assessment and treatment, attending team meetings if indicated, CPD, statutory mandatory training consistent with their core profession and the clinical need of the team.

  • Appropriate qualifications for the role
  • Experience working with families within CAMHS/CPS
  • Experience managing caseloads

Person Specification Education Essential
  • IAPT Post Grad Diploma in Evidence Based Psychological Therapies for Children and Young People: Parent Training
  • Core profession as defined by BABCP. or; Completion of KSA (Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes) portfolio.
  • Membership of the BABCP if undertaking the KSA route.
Knowledge Essential
  • An ability to assess and offer interventions to children and families with emotional and mental health difficulties
  • Specific skills and knowledge in evidence-based therapeutic interventions relevant to this client group
  • Good interpersonal skills
Experience Essential
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience of working within Child Mental Health
  • Experience in working with children with mental health problems
  • Managing own workload with effective liaison with others
