Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join South Manchester Community Respiratory Team. We are a multidisciplinary team of nurses and physiotherapists delivering a range of services for people with COPD in the community and at Wythenshawe Hospital across 7 days.
The post holder will work alongside the acute respiratory physicians and MDT to highlight variations in patient care and outcomes. Our team seek to innovatively drive up standards of patient care. They would be expected to work between the community and the hospital team providing support and education for patients with COPD and other respiratory diseases.
The team has a role in assessing and following up patients requiring home oxygen. We run various pulmonary rehabilitation locations and the post holder will be involved in the service delivery and development of this service. The applicant will be involved in the newly developed COPD and COVID virtual ward service.
Applicants will be expected to develop a sound knowledge of respiratory conditions and treatment and to undertake appropriate specialist training within the post. They will be expected to have an interest in respiratory care and some experience within their current roles that is relevant to the post. All applicants will have excellent communication skills and be able to work autonomously, seeking support as required.

- Experience of working within a respiratory care setting especially chronic lung disease, minimum of 6 months
