We are looking for:
A Cardiac Cath Lab registered nurse who will join our team to work in the Cath Labs, Day Ward and Recovery, including night shifts in the Cardiac Day Ward.
When you join our team, you will be based at Hammersmith Hospital, renowned for its strong research connections and being a regional specialist heart attack centre. This role will offer you the opportunity to upskill and specialise your nursing role in cardiac, giving you opportunities to grow and develop your career further!
The 6 cardiac cath labs in Hammersmith Hospital runs a service running Monday to Saturday, providing a variety of procedures from simple diagnostics and treatments i.e., coronary angiogram, angioplasty and device implants to more complex Interventional, EP and Structural procedures i.e., PCI of CTO, Ablations and Device Extractions, TAVIs, Mitral and Tricuspid Clips/TEER.
We aim to build a flexible workforce, where you will rotate between the cath lab, day case, and recovery areas. You will be supported by dedicated mentors, a visible cath lab leadership team, and a clinical practice educator to help you achieve essential skills and competencies to ensure you succeed within your role. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our growing nursing workforce due to service expansion. ear, we would be expanding into 6 cath labs, 8 day case beds, 6 radial chairs, and 4 recovery beds.We want to build a flexible workforce, and we would require you to rotate between the 3 areas, supported by dedicated mentors and a visible cath lab leadership team, including a clinical practice educator who will help you achieve essential skills and competencies.

Main duties of the job
- To ensure that a 6-day service is run effectively, the post holder is expected to work shifts, with combination of day shifts and night shifts, Monday to Saturday.
- To provide high quality, effective, individualised care thus ensuring the best possible patient experience within the cardiac catheter labs, day ward and recover
- To treat patients and significant others with respect and dignity at all times
- To assess patient care needs and develop, implement and evaluate them with minimal supervision
- To ensure that a 6-day service will run smoothly through shift rotations between the cardiac cath labs, day ward and recovery.
- To ensure safe and effective care are given to elective patients staying in overnight and those that are escalated into the area overnight.
