Wirral Child & Young Person Mental Health Service CYPMHS (previously CAMHS) is a therapy-based service which offers therapeutic interventions to children and young people with mild to severe mental health difficulties and their families and carers. Our aim is to ensure that children receive the right support, from the right service at the right time. We provide, assessments, formulations, case management and therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Systemic Family Practise (SFP), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
Previous experience of working in mental health setting is necessary and working with children and young people an advantage.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be an experienced practitioner who will work closely with a wide range of professionals across the Wirral 0-18 team and other connected services to provide assessment and intervention within a multi-disciplinary approach. The successful candidate will be highly skilled and committed to help develop, improve and drive the CYPMHS service forward.

- Core profession (Social Work, Nurse, Allied Health Professional)
- Professional Registration with recognised National Body (HCPC, NMC, Social Work England)
- Nationally recognised post-qualification, continuous professional development (CPD) related to the core profession (Social Work, Nurse, Allied Health Professional).
Desirable
- Therapeutic Training to intermediate / diploma level
Knowledge and expertise
Essential
- Demonstrable working knowledge of specialist therapeutic approaches e.g. CBT, Family Therapy
