We are looking for committed Paediatric Nurses to join the team on Charles Wolfson Ward.
This is an excellent opportunity to join the existing team on Charles Wolfson Ward . The Ward is a 12 bedded multi specialty Paediatric ward that forms part of the inpatient children's services at Addenbrookes. The ward caters for children from 0-1 year of age with a range of both acute, chronic and emergency admissions We work closely with both the neonatal intensive care unit, Lady Mary post-natal Ward and general pediatrics.
As a Staff Nurse in children's services, you'll be joining a diverse and stimulating department. Our work is wide ranging and we are well respected both locally and as a regional specialist treatment centre.
You will need to be an excellent communicator who is clinically credible amongst work colleagues and a positive role model. You will have a questioning mind, never settling for mediocrity, and always determined to, enthusiastically, find the best solution for patients, families and staff. You will have a love of educating and mentoring that you will use to support both junior staff and students.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for competently providing safe and effective care to infants and children requiring hospitalisation, with minimal supervision by a more experienced registered nurse. Assess care needs, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care. To participate in the supervision and teaching of unqualified and qualified staff, including basic and/or post basic students.
