South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust are recruiting for a Specialty Doctor to join the Ward 18 team based at Priestley Unit, Dewsbury and District Hospital, Dewsbury, WF1 3SP . This role plays a vital part in ensuring our patients receive the care that they need and will be an integral role within the Calderdale and Kirklees acute pathway.

You will be employed under the Specialty Doctor Terms and Conditions with a salary within this payscale. In addition, our Trust grants an additional two days annual leave to SAS doctors with 7 years or more NHS experience at SAS grade.

Qualifications

Essential

• MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.

Desirable

• Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
• MRCPsych.

Physical Attributes

Essential

• Engage in Trust Occupational Health initiatives and act in a manner to protect the Health & Safety of patients and staff. For example, having the flu jab (unless medically contraindicated).
• Ability to undertake the duties and demands of the post.
• A satisfactory sickness record over the previous 2 years (subject to the need to act with fairness and equality of opportunity, particularly where the sickness is related to a disability and/or pregnancy).
• Smart professional appearance.

Desirable

• The Trust is a Smoke Free Trust and the post holder would be expected to lead by example as a non-smoker.

Experience

Essential

• Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
• Spent a minimum of four years (full time or equivalent) in postgraduate training in the UK or equivalent medical experience of which at least 2 years training in Psychiatry.

Desirable

• In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
• Inpatient experience.
• Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 6 months of appointment.
