Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a dynamic, motivated and inspirational Head of Diagnostic Imaging Services to to lead our Clinical Imaging Specialty.
This is an exciting opportunity for a leader who understands the healthcare landscape in diagnostic imaging. Our ideal candidate will have a clinical background, and will already have significant experience managing healthcare services.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required to lead multi-disciplinary staff based in different locations across the county of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, whilst also positively engaging with the PenRAD network workstreams and projects in the Peninsula and wider South West to deliver improvement across our diagnostic imaging services.
The post holder will lead, in close liaison with the Radiology Specialty Director, the strategic development and modernisation of Imaging services, both locally across Cornwall, and wider through the PenRad Imaging Network.
Main duties of the job
The Head of Diagnostic Imaging Services is a member of the Clinical Support Care Group Senior Management Team which is led by the Care Group Senior Leadership Team.
The post holder is responsible for the delivery of a safe, high quality and efficient Diagnostic Imaging services - to include X-Ray, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, DEXA, Fracture Liaison, Interventional Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Breast Radiology (including Breast Screening).
You will lead the planning and delivery of the service to ensure operational performance and regulatory standards are met and the services financial obligations are upheld through effective leadership of workforce and processes, as well as continual service improvement.
Key responsibilities include the following:
Ensure there are clear service visions and strategic plans in place for Diagnostic Imaging Services and that these are contiguous with the plans across the wider Health and Social Care system, PenRad Imaging network and key developments within the Hospital.
Visible senior leadership, responsibility and accountability alongside the Consultant Specialty Lead - for the implementation of the business plan and monitoring and assuring progress against targets.
Responsible for all aspects of the operational management of Diagnostic Imaging.
