As part of NBT's ongoing commitment to delivering excellent patient care it is essential that it can effectively plan the capacity required to meet the needs of it's patients. For this reason, we have invested in a new demand and capacity modelling tool called Gooroo.

The post holder for this role will translate the information from the Trust's EPR into Gooroo. SQL Server development experience gained from working in a large scale/complex organisation that is highly dependent on reporting information from across its services is essential.

Excellent communication and presentation skills are prerequisite as the role involves engagement with senior leads across the Trust. Feedback from this engagement will inform design changes to the data feeds into Gooroo resulting in a model reflective of its services.

The post holder must be able to communicate complex processes in the data warehouse to non-technical users. Conversely the same is true when recording and capturing requirements.

The post will be well supported in being inducted into this role, with the expectation of eventually leading the work. The successful candidate will be line managed by the Head of Business Intelligence Development, with consultative line management provided by the Director of Performance.

The ambition is to elevate the tool so it can be used for day-to-day management, that will allow Trust leadership teams to make informed decisions that have a positive impact on their services throughout the year.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will join North Bristol Trust's Business Intelligence department and will be responsible for assisting general managers across the organisation in integrating their services into the Gooroo modeling tool. As Gooroo is widely used throughout the Trust, it has many stakeholders, each with its own specific requirements. The post holder must be adept at translating the frontend visual representations of this information into precise data requirements, which can then be incorporated into the backend data feeds from our Data Warehouse into Gooroo.

Extensive hands-on development and analytical experience with SQL Server is essential, as well as the ability to clearly explain data results presented in the model to non-technical users.

The post holder must be experienced in collecting and documenting stakeholder requirements and specifications that can be translated into data processes that achieve the desired service allocations within the Gooroo model.

Additionally, the post holder must be highly organised, with the ability to chair and coordinate meetings with multiple stakeholders to review and discuss the data results displayed in the modeling tool.
