Band 7 Clinical Respiratory Nurse (24 hours per week)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Respiratory Practitioner to work with our Integrated Respiratory Nursing service in the borough of Barking and Dagenham and the wider BHR teams.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual, with excellent communication skills, who is able to work autonomously, as part of the team and to be an integral member of the wider Respiratory teams in supporting people managing the complexities of respiratory management.
The postholder will be involved in facilitating patient pulmonary rehab program, having a sound knowledge of the principles of respiratory/COPD management and care and a keen interest in professional development & advancing with technology. Therefore, experience of teaching and good IT skills is essential.
The post holder will be responsible for providing supporting and developing the delivery of high quality evidence based Respiratory clinical practice throughout the local community, in health centre clinics and patients' homes. The successful applicant will be required to work closely with the lead Respiratory consultant, GPs, nursing colleagues, Physiotherapists and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
The ability to travel effectively across the boroughs is necessary, including home visits

Main duties of the job
1. To further develop BHR Respiratory services in partnership with Key Stakeholders.
2. To provide high-quality leadership qualities for the BHR Respiratory team by having and implementing organisational knowledge relating to trust protocols and procedures and supporting all to adhere to them.
3. Support the development of high - quality respiratory care throughout the respiratory care pathways, supporting others to do the same through integrated and collaborative working.
4. The respiratory care/education will be delivered in local NHS or community venues, in the patient's own home or residence, as individual or group sessions as appropriate.
5. To be responsible for own and others caseload management
6. To participate in the trusts appraisal and supervision system and support others to do the same.
7. To keep accurate and up to date patient records in accordance with local trust, professional body, and legal requirements
8. To participate in and ensure effective risk management behaviours across the BHR Respiratory Service by accident/ incident reporting, assessing and controlling risk and ensuring residual risks are added to the trust register.
9. To line manage, supervise and appraise junior members of staff and support the development of staff under direct supervision.

Starting with NELFTNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. Be responsible for the delivery and further development of theBHR Respiratory Service including the delivery of Education programmes for people living with respiratory conditions.7. Further develop education programmes for the population across BHR supporting patients (carers and their families) to actively participate in self- management of their respiratory conditions to optimise their own health and well-being.8. Promote independence through high quality and effective leadership the post holder will demonstrate active leadership skills in their work with the BHR RespiratoryService Team members, that embraces effective team-work through identification of common and individual aims for the service.9.
