NHFT has successfully recruited 58 international nurses, working in collaboration with the acute trusts as a system wide project. TheInternational Recruitment Team will now continue to recruit International Nurses 2024/25. Internationally educated nurses require robust teaching programmes to support them through the objective structured clinical exam (OSCE) process to gain registration with theNMC.
The post holder will be responsible for coordinating/assisting with the welcome of the international nurses into the trust prior to and on arrival in the UK. You will make sure the recruits are supported through the on-boarding and recruitment processes, so that the nurses will be able toperform to their full potential, integrate well into their ward environments and build good working relationships with other team members.
Your base will be Campbell House, Northampton and you will work countywide. This job will be full time Monday to Friday, however someflexibility will be needed for Occasional Evening and Weekend Support. It is essential that the post holder holds a valid UK driving licence.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be an integral member of the International Recruitment Teams to support the new employees with the on-boarding process,working collaboratively with NGH & KGH to ensure a smooth transition into working as a registered nurse in NHFT and embedding into localcommunity life.
It will be important to understand the cultural differences and needs of these members of staff where English is not their first language and to liaisewith trust support services as required to develop and improving the support process for the future recruitment of nurses. You will be assisting therecruits with domestic and personal processes required ie: the set-up of bank accounts. The post holder will be responsible for overseeing thatpastoral inductions to the Trust are carried out and will need to check in with the international recruits.
The Post Holder will have a close working relationship with HR and Recruitment Colleagues, ensuring there are robust processes in place forquality onboarding. The post holder will work under the supervision of the Matron for International Recruitment and will be identifying ways ofcontinuously improving the local international recruitment process and ensuring that the nurses have a positive experience of their journey fromtheir countries of origin to the UK.
