We are currently seeking to recruit a Band 7 Team Manager. It is an exciting time to join the Complex Needs Service, with additional opportunities to improve access for this client group via working collaboratively with different agencies, including the third sector, and contribute to developing innovative digital platforms.

Main duties of the job

To manage, lead and be accountable for the provision of high quality effective leadership and management of the Adult Complex Needs Service (East)and ensure an optimum level of safe and effective patient care within budgetary resources.

Develop the team with a multidisciplinary approach and using developed managerial and leadership skills to promote excellent working practice., promoting the rights of service users in line with national and regional strategies.

All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment.You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £13 per year applies.

New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Educated to diploma/degree level and registered with the appropriate professional body registration
  • To possess specialist knowledge across a range of procedures underpinned by theory
  • Masters level qualification or equivalent short courses and / or experience in relevant area
  • A recognised management qualification e.g. MBA, DMS or equivalent management experience and training.
Desirable
  • Teaching qualification
Knowledge & Expertise Essential
  • To possess specialist knowledge across a range of relevant procedures underpinned by theory
  • Knowledge of social and care health legislation and ability to apply knowledge appropriately
  • Knowledge on the delivery of a clinical, technical or social care service
  • Knowledge of the recording of service users information
  • Experience of developing specialist programmes of care/care packages
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft office
Desirable
  • Knowledge of undertaking surveys or audits
  • Knowledge of undertaking equipment testing and adaptation
  • Experience of regularly undertaking research and development activity and clinical trials
Experience Essential
  • Experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team or service
  • At least 2 years experience at band 6 or equivalent
  • Experience of planning and organising complex activities or programmes requiring formulation and adjustment
  • Experience of the direct delivery of a clinical, technical or social care service
  • Experience of developing specialist programmes of care/care packages
  • Experience of proposing policy or service changes which impacts beyond own area
Desirable
  • Responsibility for policies and the impact on other community and voluntary services
  • Experience of being a authorised signatory and holding a delegated budget
  • Experience of day to day management in allocating, placing and supervising staff or students
