An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Divisional Finance Manager to join our Financial Management Team.

Reporting to one of our Senior Divisional Finance Managers, the successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to a comprehensive financial management and support service to divisions, providing key business and financial support.

  • Possess excellent verbal & written communication skills and the ability to convey complex financial issues to non-finance managers

  • Demonstrate tact, diplomacy, confidentiality, and persuasion and to stand up and be counted on key issues.


Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge of current issues in the NHS and the changing nature of healthcare provision
  • Knowledge of the techniques that drive productivity and efficiency such as benchmarking and process mapping.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting policies, procedures, systems and software packages
  • Understanding of the Corporate and Statutory duties of NHS organisations


Desirable

  • Expert knowledge of financial and accounting procedures, legislation relevant to the NHS, management and finance policies
  • Demonstrable experience of Maximising Value in the organisational sectors worked in and the continuous development and application of tools and techniques to support this
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NHS Transformation and efficiency agenda

Experience

  • Significant experience in a senior NHS Finance role or in another sector where the knowledge is transferrable and significant post qualification experience
  • Experience of advising and influencing managers through professional credibility
  • Significant experience at a strategic level

  • Significant experience of operating at a senior management level in a busy and complex Financial Management environment

  • Ability to work flexibly to ensure deadlines are met
