Our community midwives promote normality and the use of alternative therapies for the benefit of all women. You must be flexible, having the ability to work across a large geographical area and to participate in our on-call rota and shiftsas required to support the hospital, homebirth and the midwifery led unit.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for registered midwives to join our Community Midwifery Team for Walsall Healthcare Trust. You will be experienced, enthusiastic and caring and must be able to work autonomously, demonstrating excellent clinical skills to provide effective, individualised women centered care.You will be the named midwife for a designated caseload of women, providing antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care, in the home environment and within midwife led settings, providing one to one care during labour.

Person Specification

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

• Must be able to demonstrate qualification as a Registered Midwife
• Must be able to demonstrate current registration with the NMC in the UK

EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Must be able to demonstrate full-time midwifery experience (or pro-rata)
• Must have experience of mentoring students

Desirable

• Examination of the Newborn

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Essential

• Must have experience of managing a caseload of women

Desirable

• Experience of caring for women at a home birth or low risk intrapartum care
