We have a role with ITCS Diagnostics for a Deputy Applications Manager leading teams configuring and maintaining Radiology and Endoscopy Epic modules and clinical systems.

These positions will be perfect for you, if you are looking to develop your experience in programme management within the NHS. The roles will unify policies, procedures, practices and skilled teams initially across Guy's and St Thomas' & King's College Hospital NHS Trusts. Successful candidates will have a proven track record of delivering multiple projects on time, with minimal supervision. It is key that candidates have NHS System knowledge and are able to suggest ways to improve current workflows.The post holder is responsible for supporting and coaching the team to develop their analytical skills and ensuring timely delivery of build ensuring design integrity within their area managing key stakeholder relationships and expectations while resolving conflict when necessary managing any non-Epic systems within their remit working with MDI, GSTT, KCH and ITCS Technology teams.As a Deputy Applications Manager for the Clinical Systems team, the post holder has overall responsibility for the team that configures the Epic modules as well as other software applications related to the areas of care delivery within which their role is based.Please note this role requires hybrid working and will necessitate travel between Guy's and St. Thomas', King's College Hospital and Royal Brompton and Harefield sites.

Main duties of the job

As a Deputy Applications Manager you will work directly with all Analysts, as well as clinicians and administrative staff to agree best practice and identify workflows that are the best fit for each Specialty. We are therefore seeking individuals who have appropriate qualifications and clinical or operational NHS experience. Accreditation in an Epic module is essential - preferably Radiant/Lumens and experience of an Epic implementation in the NHS would be beneficial to evidence in your application. As a Deputy Applications Manager you will manage a team of Senior Analysts and Support Analysts and take joint responsibility with other workstream leads for the delivery of future projects alongside BAU management responsibilities.

You must be able to juggle multiple, sometimes conflicting deadlines and maintain strong working relationships across the wider end user community as well as others within the ITCS team.Strong communication skills, including the ability to break down barriers of understanding across teams and leading by example will be essential in this role.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for:

Supporting and coach the analyst team to maintain their Epic Accreditation and develop their analytical skills

Managing, co-ordinating and leading the {Area/Specialty} multi-disciplinary configuration team ensuring a consistent approach to the configuration and integration between the modules and across the wider team

Leading complex build and configuration that requires more developed specialist skills and experience in Epic configuration

Managing, co-ordinating and leading a team of Analysts to ensure build is on time.

Taking responsibility to ensure design integrity

Analysing and suggest ways to improve current workflows and working practices with clinical and operational leaders

Working with the key stakeholders to analyse, negotiate and facilitate agreement for change to high-impact or critical workflows and current working practices, whilst managing expectations and resolving conflicts when necessary

Preparing for testing of the system to ensure it is safe, usable, secure and robust including the preparation of all test scripts

Testing of your area, plus the integration across all the modules to ensure care pathways are tested end to end

Supporting complex Epic software demonstrations and present information on the teams progress adapted in a way in which makes it easy for the audience to understand.

Person Specification

Qualifications/ Education

Essential

  • Epic Certification/Accreditation
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject plus master's degree level or equivalent experience working within the NHS at a senior level


Desirable

  • Project management qualifications: PRINCE2 Practitioner plus MSP Practitioner or Certificate in PPM or APM Certificated Project Manager or PMI Project (PMP) or PMI Programme Professional (PgMP)


Experience

Essential

  • Extensive/proven experience of developing long term strategic plans which involves cross organisation impact using appropriate methodologies ideally Enterprise EHR software
  • Experience of delivering a workstream of activity within in a major programme framework
  • Evidence of working sensitively but effectively with professional staff in a diverse environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of making significant judgements involving highly complex facts or situations requiring analysis and interpretation from a range of options
  • Experience of successful direct and matrix management of several staff from own levels and disciplines both internally and externally and supplier departments or organisations, including appraisal, coaching and the application of related personnel policies
