Job responsibilities
The Senior Nurse Manager (SNM) will work as an integral part of the Local Delivery Management Team. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the operational and performance management of the urgent care function which may include rehabilitation services (where configured in the LDU), and other core services within the urgent care pathway. They will ensure that the work of clinical staff is to the highest standards of evidence-based practice, implement quality and safety standards and the development of clinical pathways. You will be required to provide efficient and effective day to day management in the delivery of clinical care, ensuring best use of resources available for people with serious mental illnesses in the acute period, and their care. You will be expected to provide a high level of managerial and clinical supervision to staff from a variety of professional backgrounds to ensure that a high quality of care is provided at all times. The post holder will have performance management responsibility & ensure all targets are monitored and met which includes routine and ad-hoc reporting
The SNM will ensure that clinical process take place in line with practice standards, this will include assessment, planning, implementation and review and that robust and consistent risk management processes are in place across the LDU. They will be responsible for the management of resources to deliver services which meet the required financial, performance and quality standards which will feed into the Directorate Governance assurance process via the LDU reporting structures. You will promote a culture based on the principles of recovery, choice and personalised care. Patients and key supports/carers will be invited to take an active role in decision making about their treatment and care and their involvement is welcomed as part of ongoing service development.

Smoking
