NELFT is looking for 3 highly motivated qualified nurses interested in undertaking the Community Nursing Specialist Practitioner qualification (DNSPQ) in January 2025.You will be given a fixed term contract with NELFT to undertake a one-year full-time course.
The course is taken jointly with Anglia Ruskin University.
Applications will be accepted until: 22-09-2024.
Interviews will be held on: 07-10-2024 and 08-10-2024.
Candidates will be expected to deliver a presentation along with the interviews.
The admission criteria for the course meet NMC standards (NMC 2022) and the applicant must: - be a NMC registered nurse (level 1) with relevant professional registration, capable of safe and effective practice at the level of proficiency appropriate to the NMC approved Community Nursing Specialist Practice Qualification (SPQ) programme. - meet the NMC (2018) requirements to undertake V300 independent prescribing, including being registered with the NMC for a minimum of one year. - have the academic capability to study at level seven, therefore should have undertaken some study ay level 6.

Main duties of the job
The post of Specialist Community Practitioner Sponsorship Student is a development post building on existing knowledge, skills and competencies to achieve a higher level of practice resulting in an academic qualification as well as a recordable/recognised qualification with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
COVID-19 Vaccination
We continue to encourage all staff to ensure that they have been double vaccinated and received their booster. We recognise that taking the vaccine provides the best defence against COVID 19 for our patients, our staff and their families.
