INTERNAL ONLY TO NORTH CUMBRIA INTEGRATED CARE NHS FOUNDATION TRUST (NCIC) TRUST EMPLOYEES ONLY

To manage the day to day running and the organisation of the Domestic Services Department, in order to provide an efficient and high standard of Domestic Services as outlined in the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness Standards 2021 which has replaced the 2007 cleaning specifications.

Provide daily supervision and guidance to Domestic Assistants with West Cumberland Hospital/Community Hospitals, ensuring that they are fully trained in appropriate areas of work and are focused on service delivery, to ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained and adequate staffing levels are in place in all areas of the hospital.

Main duties of the job

Provide support to Facilities Manager

Day to day basis deal with problems and issues that arise

Effectively manage and support staff

Manage the supervisor roles, ensuring cleaning standards are reaching target.

Responsible for supervisions, appraisals and personal development plans for staff within Domestic services, housekeeping and linen

Assist Facilities Manager in supporting the Head of facilities

Ensure supervisor teams meet deadlines and to provide leadership, coaching and support as and when required

Work closely with procurement and the Trusts framework supplier to review services and implement changes to ensure best quality/quantity/cost

Support with the delivery of projects as and when required

Draft reports summarising status on issues, appraising outcomes, and providing progress reports within Domestic services, housekeeping and linen

Manage risk assessments and incidents, incorporating current Health and safety legalisation and assist the Safety Risk and Security Manager to resolve any issues or outstanding investigations

Standard Check: �18 + Administration cost of �3.85 = �21.85. Deducted at �6.85 from 1st month salary and �5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Enhanced Check: �38 + administration cost of �3.90 = �41.90. Deducted at �11.90 from 1st month salary and �10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ 3 in cleaning and support services or equivalent.
  • Certificate in supervisory management or equivalent.


Desirable

  • Essential IT skills (EITS) or equivalent.


Experience

  • Previous supervisory role

  • Working in an NHS or hospital environment


Knowledge

  • Quality monitoring procedures, ISO 9001:2008
  • Health and Safety / COSHH regulations. Management of infection prevention and control.
