We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and visionary Director of Nursing for Mental Health and Learning Disabilities.
Reporting to the Director of MHLD, this is a pivotal role, responsible for leading and delivering outstanding nursing services across our mental health and learning disabilities sectors.
The MH& LD Nurse Director will provide and take responsibility for Nursing and leadership, building, motivating and developing a team of nurses, to drive forward service transformation across MH& LD services.
Theideal candidate will be a registered Mental Health Nurse or Learning Disability Nurse with current NMC registration, with significant senior leadership experience.. You will have a proven track-record of driving service improvements, a deep understanding of clinical governance, and a commitment to the values of the NHS.

Main duties of the job
The MH& LD Nurse Director will provide and take responsibility for Nursing and leadership, building, motivating and developing a team of nurses, to drive forward service transformation across MH& LD services. As a member of the MH& LD Senior Leadership and Management Team, the MH& LD Nurse Director will hold responsibility jointly with other members of the MH& LD team for the strategic direction, and operational delivery of services.
The MH& LD Nurse Director is professionally accountable for the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care for services within the sphere of responsibility. This includes collaborating with colleagues to continuously promote multidisciplinary working and review the workforce plan for the future.
Key responsibilities will be to challenge, support, manage and develop the delivery of care systems relating to a single hospital and community model, with services delivered on multiple sites, through ensuring high levels of nursing and staff engagement that are outcomes focused, developing and implementing robust systems for performance and financial management with patient safety and quality governance at the heart of everything that we do.
