We are looking for an experienced CBT practitioner to join out Step 4 Psychology team to provide assessment and intervention for clients referred to our service.

The post is for 12 months and is part of our waiting list initiative.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will provide assessment and interventions to a range of clients referred to the service and also be involved in co facilitating the groups and courses that we offer in the service.

All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. Please note that DBS costs will be waived for applicants who are being recruited for COVID-19 reasons.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £13 per year applies. Please see attached Update Service Applicant Guide document for further information.

New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Postgraduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
  • Appropriate professional registration
  • Core NHS/Social Care professional training
Desirable
  • Additional psychotherapy qualification eg. EMDR/DBT
  • Relevant supervision qualification
Knowledge and Expertise Essential
  • Minimum 3 years Postqualification NHS experience of working as a psychological therapist with adult clients with Complex psychological problems
Desirable
  • Experience of providing teaching and training
  • Experience of engaging and sustaining work with clients who struggle to engage
  • Experience of exercising clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care within the context of a multi-disciplinary working
Experience Essential
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with GPs, other clinicians and external stakeholders
  • Ability to supervise, mentor and support staff
Desirable
  • Experience of liaison with other health professionals
  • Experience of providing teaching and training
