Registered Mental Health Nurse / Registered Learning Disability Nurse- Enhanced Care Team Band 5 Full time 37.5 hours per week

Main duties of the job
The Enhanced Care Team was introduced to improve the way we care for our patients requiring extra support and enhanced observations. Enhanced care for patients has a significant impact on both patient and careers experience. We offer individualized tailored care that contributes towards patient's safety and delivery of the fundamentals of care. The role of the Enhanced Care Team is to engage and support patients referred to our service with therapeutic interventions to improve their care and recovery in the hospital.Training in Enhanced Care, Dementia, Learning Disabilities, Delirium, Conflict resolution, Mental Health and Substance misuse is available for those involved in providing the service.

Croydon University Hospital (CUH) is a busy 500-bedded urban hospital in the midst of an �18 million redevelopment. Facilities include a simulation centre, an education and training centre with Kings College London accredited courses, an on-site crche, a cafeteria, a coffee shop, on site parking and an M & S Food supermarket. West & East Croydon Overground & British Rail Stations are 10 minutes away and Boxpark Croydon 20 minutes. The area has excellent schools both in the state and private sectors.

Successful candidates will have excellent communication skills, be flexible and able to adapt to a changing environment. Individuals will need to be able to demonstrate that they are caring, compassionate who can engage patients with meaningful conversation and activity. You will need to have patience and commitment to work within this challenging but very rewarding role. As part our service you will work as an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team, and report to the Enhanced Care team leader. You must be skilled in mental state examinations and be able to formulate risk assessments based on clinical presentations. You will have a good working understanding of legal frameworks in a general hospital. You will support the Dementia Lead Nurse and Head of Nursing in training around mental health awareness for the Enhanced Care assistants in the team, taking on a supervisory role to help the development of the team and junior staff.
