An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Oncology team.
To work as a part of a specialist team of nurses to provide safe and effective care to patients in the outpatient setting delivering systemic anti-cancer therapies. This includes cytotoxic chemotherapy, supportive care and treatments for non-malignant conditions.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated band 5 staff nurse to join our Oncology Day Unit team on Trevor Howell.
We are responsible for treating patients who have different types of cancers with chemotherapy and other types of SACT, as well as providing supportive therapies such as blood transfusions, electrolyte replacements and IVIg.
Candidates will ideally have at least 6-12 months post registration experience, IV competent with a keen interest in Oncology. SACT experience, venepuncture and cannulation skills are desirable but full training will be provided for this.
You will be expected to provide and maintain high standards of care to our patients, be able to work autonomously as well as part of a cohesive team andhave excellent communication skills.
