We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse to join our friendly Nurse led Haemodialysis Team at York Renal Unit.
York Renal Unit is a 13 station Haemodialysis Unit, caring for patients with chronic kidney disease. We also have a 4 station unit dedicated to patients interested in shared care Haemodialysis. York Renal unit is part of York Renal Services, which also has 3 satellite units based in Easingwold, Harrogate and Scarborough.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated nurse who demonstrates excellent communication and leadership skills to join our team. You will be part of a dynamic forward thinking multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality individualised evidence based care. In addition to possessing excellent communication and people skills, you must also work well under pressure and use your initiative.
You must have a minimum of 2 years recent Dialysis experience at Band 5 or above, be forward thinking and have a keen interest in service improvement and development. Working with the unit manager you will be responsible for supervising and developing clinical practice and the professional standards of the nursing staff, providing good leadership and support to the staff and providing holistic, high quality care to chronically ill patients.
Main duties of the job
The role is to consistently drive excellent clinical quality standards by providing visible clinical leadership to the team, and support them in the delivery of high quality, effective and evidence based care. Focus will be on patient experience, patient safety and providing assurance that standards are met for every patient, every time.

Although based at York the successful candidate needs to be flexible to cover occasional shifts at Easingwold and Harrogate satellite units if there is a clinical need. You will be part of a dedicated team of nurses, and will also be expected to take part in the limitedout of hour's on-call service as required.
