An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior clinician to join the Integrated Local Services (ILS) directorate as Deputy Head of Nursing for Health Inclusion Services and Continence. The successful candidate will provide the clinical leadership for the service, working closely with the wider service management team with the full support of the directorate management team.
The role covers several high-profile established multi-disciplinary specialties and supports an award winning team provide care for Homeless, Refugee and Asylum, Continence advisory and High Intensity User services. The postholder will also have opportunities to lead on improvement projects, engage with our local commissioners, maintain strong health and social care partnerships with Lambeth Together and Partnership Southwark.
To deliver in this role, you will need experience of working within multi-professional teams and collaborative working with internal and external stakeholders. Main duties of the job
- To provide the Clinical Service Leadership for the Health Inclusion and Continence services.
- The Deputy Head of Nursing will hold the Service Management Team to account for delivery against their personal and the service's objectives through regular performance review meetings
- The Deputy Head of Nursing will ensuring effective action is taken where performance falls below, or is at risk of falling below expected levels, by setting remedial plans with the service manager and clinicians and appropriately challenging any failure of these plans to deliver improvements.
- To professionally lead nursing and multiple professional services and provide coaching and support to develop staff.
- To ensure effective clinical practice and the highest of professional standards from the clinical and professional workforce.
- To lead a culture of professional accountability and responsibility to patients, ensuring that staff learns from complaints and clinical incidents.
- To ensure that robust personal and clinical supervisory processes are in place and recorded appropriately.
Clinical work
- The postholder will maintain a senior clinical role in the service with a focus on patient-facing care and support for the MDT. This will be formalised via a job plan on appointment which will be reviewed annually.
