Working as a Senior Clinical Trainer, you will play a key role in designing and delivering the recovery education provided by Southern Health's Recovery College. The role involves working closely with our other Senior Clinical Trainer and Senior Peer Trainers to provide leadership and line management to our trainers. Build your leadership experience and professional skills as you support our team and motivate them to perform at their best.

We are seeking an individual with excellent clinical knowledge of recovery education and co-production. You will play a crucial role in developing the college training calendar and prospectus, ensuring they reflect our commitment to clinical excellence and student engagement. Leading by example is paramount and your capacity to manage your own wellbeing is extremely important.

Main duties of the job

Designing and delivering recovery and self-management related training.

Working with peers and clinical staff to develop new courses or recovery material.

Developing the Recovery College curriculum, ensuring it remains contemporary and relevant.

Supporting with the facilitation of student support plans.

Advising staff where safeguard concerns arise.

Contributing to the development of guidelines for trainers.

Management, leadership, and supervision of college staff.

Providing clinical knowledge and experience to students and staff within the college.

Supporting colleagues to translate their knowledge of recovery and self-management into practice.

Representing the Recovery College across the organisation and externally.

Contributing to the clinical team engagement strategy for the college.

Our new Trust will continue to cater to the unique needs of different communities, making healthcare across the county more accessible, as well as offering staff more opportunities for career development, training and partnership working.

Qualifications

Essential

  • A professional health & /or social care qualification.
  • Teaching qualification (or equivalent experience) or active mentor/ supervisor qualification


Desirable

  • Educated to Degree level and / or PGCE all in relevant field.
  • MHFAider


Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 2 years post registration experience in health, mental health or educational sector.
  • Ability to evidence working in a recovery-oriented way.
  • Experience of line managing staff including dealing with appraisals and human resource issues.
  • Experience of leading an initiative and developing action plans.
