Are you an innovative and forward thinking Occupational Therapist with a broad spectrum of practice experience to share, and looking for the next step in your career?

We are seeking to recruit a highly experienced and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join the leadership team in the Cotswolds Locality. Your main base will be in Cirencester, with another base in Bourton on the Water.

Main duties of the job

Your focus will be on operational and professional leadership, governance, support and development for Occupational Therapists working within the Integrated Community Teams (ICTs). You will join an established, highly experienced peer group of Professionals covering community nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and reablement.

Working as part of the multidisciplinary community based team; the successful candidate will be passionate about the role of Occupational Therapy and how we can support people in their own homes - ranging from rapid assessment to prevent hospital admission, through to provision of therapy for Home First/Reablement and assessment for long term adaptations through the disabled facilities grant processes. You will receive regular supervision and be working as part of a supportive team.

Gloucestershire Health & Care Services deliver community health & social care services for adults & older people via a model of locality-based cluster teams. Each of the clusters consist of Nursing, Therapy and Reablement Teams working closely alongside social work professionals to provide support to people within their own homes and within bed based reablement units. We work closely with GPs, local communities, acute and community hospital(s) and other partners to enable people to live as independently and for as long as possible within their own home.

This post requires the post holder to be able to undertake all statutory and mandatory training and post holders must be able to undertake physical interventions. Fitness for physical intervention will be assessed by Occupational Health.

Person Specification Shortlisting Essential
  • Current registration with HCPC
  • An Occupational Therapy degree (level 6) (or diploma equivalent)
  • Able to demonstrate equivalent relevant clinical /managerial/leadership experience.
  • Hold a recognised teaching and assessment/ mentoring qualification
Shortlisting Essential
  • Extensive post registration experience in the requisite discipline
  • Experience of providing professional and clinical supervision to staff at a variety of levels
