The Trust outpatient department at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) is offering a new and exciting role to shape the future of outpatients at UHS. We are looking for highly motivated, compassionate, and inclusive individuals to join our emerging central service, leading on implementing new efficient processes and digital technology in a fast-paced environment, focusing on providing a quality service through a patient-first approach.

Job responsibilities
Working closely with clinical, operational, and administrative teams, you will be empowered to modernise and streamline outpatient processes and structures aligned with strategic goals to create a standardised outpatient service model, and enhance patient experience. You will play a key role in making long-term improvements to the way outpatient services are delivered, ensuring they are aligned with the hospitals wider objectives and future needs. You will have the freedom to use creative and out-of-the-box thinking to deliver the best outpatient service for patients.
- Develop business plans to achieve organisational goals, including financial planning, marketing strategies, and operational efficiency improvements.- Lead teams, managing staff, and overseeing day-to-day operations. This includes hiring, training, and evaluating employees, as well as fostering a positive work environment.- Lead the development and implementation of outpatient operational change management plans across the Trust, in partnership with the outpatient administration centre (OAC) and care groups, and in line with national recommendations and guidance.- Lead a number of projects and initiatives across Trust outpatients.- Act as a liaison between different departments, management, and stakeholders. Ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the organisation.
