We are looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join our Community CAMHS team in Swindon. This is a specialist multi-disciplinary team with a strong psychology presence and you will be working alongside a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, 2 x 8a Clinical Psychologists and an Assistant Psychologist. The team is friendly, innovative and values multi-disciplinary working.
You would contribute to Core CAMHS work including initial assessments, evidence based interventions (both individually and in groups), supporting the duty system, offering consultation and supervision to colleagues and other relevant professionals where appropriate.
There is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in a number of specialties within CAMHS as we are the fortunate position of being able to discuss with candidates where your specialist interests lie and co-create job descriptions wherever possible. This includes experience in Eating Disorders, neuro developmental pathway, CBT specialist clinics, and our LD service as well.
There is also the prospect of taking an active role in supervision within the team and across the trust, with the chance to undertaking further training specifically in supervision if interested. We have a strong commitment to Clinical Psychology training and the post holder will be involved in offering training placements for the new Bath University Doctorate Programme, as well as teaching and being able to access the University’s CPD programme.
We are keen to provide support to anyone transitioning from training, and we offer regular clinical supervision as well as the opportunity to join a group for newly qualified Clinical Psychologists (both internally and externally). There is an active Clinical Psychology structure within the wider CAMHS service in Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) with psychologists based in all 5 core CAMHS teams and also within several specialist teams (for example, In-reach, Crisis and Home Treatment, Harmful Sexual Behaviour and FCAMHS). We meet regularly, promoting professional development and providing opportunity for specialist supervision and shared learning. There are also plans to develop professional links across Oxford Health (into Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire) which will offer further opportunity for specialist CPD and networking.
