Provide a specialised Clinical Psychology service to clients within theCommunity team for people with intellectual disabilities, providing specialised psychological assessment and therapy to clients.The assessment and intervention approaches delivered will encompass multidisciplinary strategies, to facilitate the client's needs. All activities will be based upon a holistic, person-centred framework, utilising needs-led models, such as the Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) model and developing these interventions with teams, as appropriate.
This post is advertised as a Band 8a, however applicants who do not currently hold all the necessary competencies to a Band 8a level are encouraged to apply and, if successful, will be appointed under Annex 21 rules whereby 75% of Band 8a will be payable during the first 12 months or until band 8a competencies have been completed.
Main duties of the job
Exercise autonomous professional responsibility and be legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of professional practice, being guided by principles and broad occupational policies.Provide specialised psychological assessments using a wide variety of methods, including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client's care.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- Honours Degree in Psychology
- Doctoral level advanced knowledge of Clinical Psychology theory and practice, psychological therapies and their application, Neuropsychological and Psychometric assessment and interpretation
- Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, including multivariate data analysis as practised within Clinical Psychology

- Specialist training e.g. research design & methodology Systemic family therapy, EMDR, CAT, Neuropsychology
Experience

- Demonstration of further specialist training / experience through having received extensive and demonstrable clinical supervision of working as a Clinical Psychologist or an alternative agreed by the Director of Psychology
- Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care, with experience of coordinating care within the context of multi-disciplinary care planning
