Financial Services Manager- Band 6 Permanent- 37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking to recruit a Band 6 Financial Services Managerto join our Financial Services Team.

The successful candidate will assist in the provision of the Financial Services and to ensure stakeholders including service users receive relevant, accurate and timely financial advice and information.

Main duties of the job

To assist in the provision of the Financial Services and to ensure stakeholders including service users receive relevant, accurate and timely financial advice and information.

Responsibility for the following functions:
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Charitable Funds
  • Treasury Management
  • Technical Accounts
  • Capital

  • To assist in ensuring the Financial Services section works to robust documented financial procedures, in order to process all relevant financial transactions with completeness, accuracy and timeliness.

    To act on issues of non-compliance with financial procedures in order to remove weaknesses and improve control systems.

    Responsibility for the preparation of appropriate Annual Accounts notes and FTC submissions.

    Responsibility for the preparation appropriate data for inclusion in the Trust's NHSE returns.

    To be an active member of the FSD/FFF steering group.

    Essential

    • 5 GCSE's grade C or above including Maths & English or equivalent
    • AAT Advanced/NVQ level 4 Accounting or equivalent experience


    Desirable

    • Qualified Accountant with a professional accountancy body or qualified by significant work experience.

    Experience

    Essential

    • Significant experience within a Finance Department
    • Experience of financial ledger systems and computerised systems
    • Have proven experience of successfully managing a finance team
    • Experience of leading and coordinating processes involved in financial accounts
    • Have proven experience of successfully achieving deadlines
    • Previous experience of NHS finance


    Desirable

    • Experience of accounting for Charitable Funds
    • Experience of accounting for Capital


    Knowledge

    Essential

    • An understanding of confidentiality
    • A good understanding of NHS technical accounting including coding structures and reporting
    • An appreciation of the importance of deadlines
